A recent addition to the Meadow is our Farm Shop & Traiteur. The idea was conceived from regular diners wanting take to take home a little bit of their dining experience, be it the daily made fresh breads or a jar of our rhubarb and ginger chutney. The shop has expanded to include a range of fine ready meals, such as cassoulet or duck confit, to a handy lunch size “on-the-go” pot of English pea & Sussex goat’s cheese risotto or an organic kale & potato soup. Making our own pasties, terrines, cakes, pastries, chutneys, preserves and relish we ensure ingredients reflect the change of the seasons.

We have also concentrated on making it accessible for customers in the town to enjoy produce straight from the farm by stocking an array of the fresh vegetables, hen and duck eggs, creams and pure local fruit juices we use downstairs in our kitchen.

The festive season saw the launch of our hampers, a delight for foodies alike! Brimming with a selection of our preserves, chutneys, “The Meadow” chocolate bars and a heavenly Christmas pudding, to name but a few items, our hampers proved a huge success.

Saturday mornings we now offer tasters, so if Sussex cheeses or quality rare breed meats tantalises you, join us this Saturday to sample the delights of The Meadow!
